Blind Children Community in Kishurim

Kishurim is a consortium established to provide an integrated solution for the connection of the schools in Israel to the Internet and for the establishment of an Intranet educational network. The communications center established three years ago provides services of electronic communications, administrative and pedagogical, among the different partners in the education community in Israel.

Kishurim now offers a site developing system +e-du-byte that enable the schools and other learning communities to publish their materials in the network. It supports search facilities, authorizations, upload of Office documents, audio and video files, to set up customised tables, interactive bulletin boards, lessons schedule for each classroom, list of teachers, list of  recommended sites, repositories of graphics and backgrounds, and customisation of the site.

A good example of a site established with the support of this system is the site for blind children, their teachers and parents. The site was established and is coordinated by Yael Olmer, teacher and instructor for blind people

The site support a virtual community and offer information in different content areas relevant for the blind person world and the community that supports him.  It is the largest site in Israel offering professional materials for the blind related community.
