Social Issues in Israel

In 2001 Anat-Keshev will operate nine educational ICT projects in several curricular areas like: Bible, History, Sciences, English, building Web sites and more.
A central project, already for 11 years, is the “Social Project”. It involves 170 classrooms from all over the country. The purpose is to create a dialogue and inter-personal relations betwee different populations in the Israeli Society. The project also aims to improve the read/write capabilities of the students by mail interchanges and a  variety of activities in the Internet. Among the classrooms are those from Kibbutzim, urban schools, religious schools, secular, Arab, Druze and more; 60 schools from the special education sector also participate in the project.

In the course of the project the students deal with different social and actuality issues, they discuss moral and values dilemmas. This year the project will be dedicated to different aspects of violence in the life of children and youth. It will employ email correspondence, forums, preparation of resources for the project Web site: posters, presentations, surveys, etc.
