The MACAM98 network connects 30 Teacher Training Colleges in Israel. The mission of the network is to provide access to students and teachers to the global network; to offer them experience with the variety of approaches for the application of CMC in education; to develop net based learning environments. The Development Team for the Network is composed now by 44 Teacher Educators who have been trained for disseminating the use of the Internet in Teacher Education in Israel and are now involved in the development of Telematised Teaching Environments.
This task demands that they become proficient in assuming new roles: 1. Group moderator for virtual and face-to-face work and learning groups 2. Multimedia producer 3. Pilot in situations of information and knowledge overflow 4. Technology pioneer 5. Anxiety managers.
Members of the Development Teams of the network will discuss among themselves   and with the public at large, during the Netdays Europe  week, the role of teacher education for the Information Society and alternative models for teacher education.
