| The Program for the Direct
Connection of Museums and Schools from the Department of Museums of the Ministry of
Education, Culture and Sport provide students and teachers in-depth acquaintance with
collections, exhibits and special education programs. Different approaches to learning
from galleries are stimulated; seminars; national conferences of museum educators involved
in school-museum programs. The program began to involve students
through the use of Internet related technologies. Students are bein instructed how to
build and maitain virtual museums in the Interne; establishing a telepresence as an
additional dimension to the real museum visits.
Netdays Europe will be an opportunity to maintain online interactions
between educators and Museum curators, from Israel and from Europe to discuss the
opportunities opened by the Internet for the extension of the Museums and the enrichment
of their relationships with schools. We would like very much to host students and teachers
from Europe in our chat session.
