Roots and Me
My Family's Story

Roots and Me is a project which enables Jewish youngsters to learn more about their family history, their community and to discover their place amongst the Jewish people.

A special book serves as a trigger for the use of an special website http://www.rootsandme.org.il .The site serves as a virtual club with various interactive activities. It features the new Jewish Genealogy software,ILANOT, that can be downloaded for use at home or school.

My Family's Story - Prof. Yitzhak Halbrecht Family Tree Competition aims are:

To encourage Bar/Bat Mitzva age students (11-14 yo) to research their families in depth. It provides an opportunity to add their families to the databases in the Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center.

To enable people to find links with other families.

This year the competition is held for the fourth time and the Award Ceremony is held in the Beth Hatefutsoth. Last year more than 9,000 students from all over the world participated.
